Why is my cat still peeing after UTI meds, not eating, and wet spots?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 10 years and 6 months old | 19 lbs

My cat just had a bout of cystitis followed by a uti. Was on antibiotics for 13 days which just ended. Well now he seems to not want to eat much ( but will slowly) and tonight was laying on bed for a while and when he got up I found a good sized wet spot. What is happening to him? I've been so worried for over a month now. I'm also out of funds. He's on so food and Prozac.

A uti is a form of cystitis. Cystitis can be a very difficult condition to treat in cats with many complications. If this is happening i suspect it never quite got better. Ifeally he should have had urine culture before and after treatment to make sure antibiotics were appropriate and worked. He will need further inbestigations to make sure nohing else is occuring such as xray, ultrasound urine culture and sensitivity. In the mean time try to increase his water intake and give him a bladder supplement
