My found kitten has closed eyes and fever. What home remedies?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 1lb

Kiddie found yesterday. Eyes do not open, had fever, had crunchy hair. Eats ...had no cat food. Gave it tuna, bathe it and cleaned it with vinegar first to take off the crunchy sediment on its fur. Ate again this morning. No signs of #2 yet. Urinated extremely orange. Have no resources $$ to take to a Vet. What home remedy can I get to help it? Doesn't open eyes too much. Squints! At least it Meows.

Unfortunately it sounds like this little kitty is really sick. I would recommend taking him to a vet because he most likely needs antibiotics that you cannot get over the counter. You can try cleaning the eyes with a warm wash cloth. This will help remove the debris and discharge from the eyes. Also, keeping him close to food and water. He might not be defecating due to lack of food. I would monitor his defecation closely. You can use an over the counter dewormer and placed flea prevention on his back to help with parasites.
