Why does my dog have flat white hairless spots on his legs and body?

Dog has flat white hairless spots all over trunk , inside legs, back of legs and now in armpits.. Spots vary in size and don't seem to bother. the early spots had a slight crusty feeling to them. Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 1 year and 4 months old | 63 lbs
