My cat is vomiting and has diarrhea but acts normal. What's wrong?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 12 lbs

Hi, recently my cat has vomited twice within the span of a week or so. He does not normally vomit, and I also noticed some diarrhea. His behavior doesnt seem to have changed much. My cat is about a year old and neutered.

You could add a probiotic to his food and see if that helps. Otherwise, your vet can test a stool sample to make sure he doesn't have a parasite and then prescribe medications to help treat. He may need a dewormer, antacid, gastrointestinal protectant, anti-inflammatory, and/or other medications. You could also try a hypoallergenic diet, like z/d or d/d, to see if that helps.
