My cat hit by car, no visible injury. Why did he die, was it quick?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 5 months old | 14 lbs

My cat todaydiee because he got ran over by a van and after that he ran to the side of the road but they was no blood or anything and I wanted to know why he died and was he in pain and was it a quick death

I am so sorry about Oreo. He likely sustained internal injuries that were not evident from the outside. He could have had internal bleeding or damage to his lungs or other vital organs. He likely did not experience much pain at first due to the adrenaline response but after it is possible there was pain if he did not pass quickly.
