What kind of enema can I safely give my constipated dog at home?

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Pinscher | Male | unneutered | 10 lbs

Please help my dog is constipated ive been giving him lactulose 5ml tds. He is a minature dobbermin pincer. Plus minus 7 years old. What enema can i give him? I am a Pharmacist and a paramedic.

The safest at home enema is actually warm soapy water. I would only use about 2-3 teaspoons in a dog that size. Make sure he is not straining from diarrhea before you administered it and I would only do it the one time. You can always change his food to something with more fiber or add canned pumpkin or canned green beans to his diet to help keep him regular
