My dog ate a small sharp piece of plastic. It was skinny too. I feed him 1 whole wheat bread. Should I be concerned?

If it was small and skinny, hopefully it should pass without problem. You did exactly the right thing by giving Jim a piece of whole wheat bread. I would continue to give him a slice of whole wheat bread with each meal, and the plastic should pass in about 72 hours. You may see some blood in his feces if the plastic sticks the GI tract on it's way out, and if you do, I would take him into the vet just to be safe, but I think it should pass fine.

If this piece of plastic is very thin, it may pass without problem. Give Clem a slice of whole wheat bread now, and one with every meal. This can form a ball of ingesta around the plastic and cushion it as it passes through the GI tract. Keep an eye on her for signs of obstruction such as vomiting, diarrhea, blood in the feces, lethargy, and anorexia. If you see any of those signs, take her into a vet immediately. Hopefully this will pass within the next 72 hours. Best of luck.
