My cat lost her voice after kittens. Is it laryngitis or illness?

Pet's info: Cat | British Shorthair | Female | unspayed | 4 years and 1 month old

My cat had 4 kittens theyre growing fine shes eating dry food plus tinned tuna and drinking plenty but yesterday her voice stopped shes opening her mouth to answer me when i speak to her but no dound .Shes been purring all the time when the kittens are with her cuddling up to them and yes constant purring and still purring but her voice has silenced ? Is her voice just over used or is she ill.She is acting the same as normal except for this?

It is possible for cats to develop laryngitis from overuse of their voice, just like people. If she is acting completely normal otherwise, I wouldn't worry - she may just be hoarse from meowing and purring to her kittens. We also sometimes see a hoarse or silent meow with upper respiratory infections in cats, so keep an eye out for any other symptoms such as sneezing or drainage from her eyes or nose. If she develops any of these symptoms, she should be checked by a vet as she may need an antibiotic.
