Place an e-collar (cone) on him to prevent further scratching. Have Bijju examined by your veterinarian. A swab of the ear can be examined under a microscope to diagnose yeast or bacterial infection. Your vet can clean the ears afterwards and dispense the appropriate medication.

Poor Bijju! Oftentimes ear infections are not visible from the outside but they can be very painful and irritating. Scratching can make the pain worse. It would be best to have a veterinarian look inside his ear to make sure there is nothing stuck in his ear (such as a piece of plant material or other foreign object). If it appears to be an infection, sometimes a cytology is needed to determine what type of infection it is so the best treatment can be prescribed. Until you can bring him to a veterinarian, you may need to put a cone collar (E-collar) on him to keep him from continually scratching.
