Guinea pig lethargic, not eating, sitting in urine. Urgent vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Other | Unknown - Other | Female

I have a guinea pig who's usually active and curious. When I am in the room she usually will walk near me to check me out. Recently she hasn't been coming out of hiding when I enter the room. She also doesn't come running anymore when she hears the veggie bag crinkle. I left her for 2ish hours today and when I got back she was in the same spot and pose as when i left and she was sitting in a puddle of her own urine. Running out of characters, hospital tonight or can i wait to take her to a vet?

I would recommend taking her to the vet tonight if you can. Usually by the time a guinea pig shows us they are sick they have been sick For a while and just hiding it. If you cannot tonight I would offer his his favorite treats to make sure he is eating and take her to the veterinarian tomorrow.
