Why is my new kitten not eating, has loose stool, and seems stressed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | unspayed

I bought a persian kitten 3 days ago. She was 70 days old when I brought her home. She was brought inside a basket in a train5 hrs journey. She was happy the first day, played a lot around and ate well. The 2nd day she didn't eat well and slept too much. Her stool was not solid. Today is her third day at my home and she did not eat well, just drank water(did not poop)She was also frightened by a dog some time earlier. She seems unhappy. Is it the dog But I think she's not happy beacuse of change

This definitely could be because of the stress in her life leaving her original home, the train ride, the dog, and change of food (if you changed it). I would try some plain boiled chicken (no bones) to see if you can entice her to eat. I would also let her stay in a room where the dog doesn't go until she gets a little more acclimated. Also, if she isn't improving I would recommend to see your vet so they can make sure she doesn't have any worms or bacterial infection that could be causing the diarrhea and not eating.
