My dog has red patchy skin on her belly and also pimples on her mouth.. chocolate lab puppy.. is this a food allergy? Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 9 months and 12 days old | 52 lbs

Food allergy is possible, or she may have an environmental allergy. Based on the pictures she does appear to have a secondary skin infection. In order to definitively diagnose food allergy she will need to eat a specific prescription diet containing novel or hydrolyzed protein for at least 8 weeks. Your vet can work with you to determine if a diet trial is appropriate and also provide treatment of the skin lesions.
