How often should I walk my dog to ensure a long, healthy life?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 7 months old

Is it true ? My friend told me taking dog on walk regularly increase the chances for them to live longer for long period of time and my mom told me that's not true breeds have their own age and longevity so I some times like once in 3 days or two days I take bruno on walk for 30 minutes only so is there a chance that my dog gonna live less ? I got a friend who Tak out his dogs only on Saturday and Sunday so whom I should trust ?

I believe regular exercise is good for dogs! And I think keeping a dog at a healthy weight (which exercise helps with this) will help your dog live longer. Now will he live to be as old as a miniature poodle?! Probably not since he is a large breed dog. But he has a better chance to live a long healthy life with regular exercise. If you are able to walk him every day to every other day, then I think that is a good goal!
