After treating, can fleas really be gone fast, or are they hiding?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 40 lbs

Hi, we recently rescued a dog and not even within 24 hours found out she had fleas. We treated her and the house along with out cat and can't find any fleas anywhere anymore. But i have people refusing to come into my house because they are saying its impossible to get rid of fleas that fast and that just because we dont see them doesn't mean we don't have them. Is that true? If so, how am i supposed to know what else to keep doing and trying.

I think what they are worried about is that a lot of the time with fleas the issue is the life cycle. Adult fleas will live on the pets, but eggs and larvae live in the soft dmfurnishibgs waiting to awaken. However, in your case if you brought the new dog in an killed the fleas quickly and also treated the house, it is unlikely that there would have been time for adults to jump off and lay eggs in your house. I would keep up to date on flea control
