Vomiting a single time if your dog is otherwise acting normally is a situation where we will often wait and observe how the dog is doing before bringing in to your vet. If your dog's energy is normal, gums are pink, and his belly nonpainful with normal bowel movements, you can try fasting him (no food) for 6 to 8 hours then slowly reintroducing water , then food. You can read about this at http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=353. If your dog starts vomiting again, becomes lethargic or painful, is panting, or has pale gums then a vet visit is recommended. If your dog has a habit of eating too fast they do make special food bowls to help with this issue, such as these: https://www.chewy.com/jw-pet-skid-stop-slow-feed-dog-bowl/dp/40253?utm_source=google-product&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=hg&utm_content=JW%20Pet&utm_term=&gclid=CjwKEAjwvYPKBRCYr5GLgNCJ_jsSJABqwfw7Cs8wZVOea2CrRZR1IMR5f6CzdJ8Y4UZSHxMMbGyN7RoCr47w_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
