There are a ton of different causes for vomiting in dogs, some of which are more common than others depending on breed, age, temperament, and several other factors. Some to mention would include inflammatory diseases of the GI tract, pancreas, or liver, liver disease, kidney disease, GI foreign bodies, infectious diseases / immune mediated diseases, dietary indiscretion, toxin exposure, anatomic / structural abnormalities, and several others. In order to determine the reason for vomiting, diagnostics and a physical exam will be required. I suggest taking her to a veterinarian to have a work up performed. Hope things work out for the best,

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. This amount of vomiting is concerning and I would absolutely recommend having Chloe evaluated by a veterinarian. Causes of vomiting include dietary indiscretion, gastroenteritis, intestinal obstruction, pancreatitis, liver disease, kidney disease, even cancer. Your vet can perform an exam and may recommend x-rays of her abdomen, and/or bloodwork to try to find an underlying cause. I hope this is helpful!

Poor Zoey! I can see bile and some undigested food in her vomit. It is concerning that she has been vomiting for several days. This may be caused by intestinal obstructions, pancreatitis, or dietary indiscretion. I recommend having Zoey seen by her vet as soon as possible - they can perform bloodwork, x-rays, and an abdominal ultrasound if necessary to determine the exact cause for her vomiting and rule out any of the conditions above, and others including bacterial and viral infections. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
