Why is my puppy vomiting yellow foam and not eating or moving?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 80 lbs

He is a pitbull/boxer mix puppy about 9 months old, he stays in a kennel outside and suddenly today he is vomiting dark yellow foamy liquid, will not eat or drink, does not want to move, has to be forced to come out, and has excessive drooling of the dark yellow liquid coming from his mouth. What do I need to do to help him?

This looks like either a possible toxin exposure or something infectious is going on. This could also be a sign of pneumonia. Because of the vomiting he will not be able to take anything by mouth. This is because anything you give he's likely just a vomit back up. Because of this I recommend you see your veterinarian who can give you an exact diagnosis and treatment plan. It maybe he can be treated as an outpatient but it's hard to say based on the signs.
