Rocky has a patch on his back near his tail that he constantly scratches at & he is losing his hair in that area. We have him on Trifexis so he doesn't have fleas & he is groomed regularly he is an inside dog as well. My question is, is there is an over-the-counter topical something or other that I can maybe rub on this area. I do not want to put anything on him that may make him sick or harm him.

Anything you apply topically will likely be licked off and ingested. This may cause unwanted complications. Place an e-collar (cone) on Rocky to prevent further licking. This alone may be enough to allow healing. If the spot does not heal, have him examined by your veterinarian. Antibiotics, antihistamines, steroids or a combination thereof may be necessary for resolution.
