My dog has eye goo, pawing, and sneezing. Could it be an eye injury?

My dog has been getting some goo in his right eye for a couple of days, I'm wondering if dogs get conjunctivitis or if it could be inflammation. Hes been sneezing too, which is unusual. Prior to this he had been pawing at it heavily as if it was itchy or bothersome, so could he have scratched it?

He may have scratched his eye. The way to find out would be to stain the eye with a special stain. This can be done by a veterinarian. They will also inspect the eye to look for foreign material stuck under the lids and consider testing the tear production for low tear production which can all cause similar signs. Good luck!
