Why are all my cats suddenly throwing up after eating their food?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

I have fed my cats (3 adult cats and 7 kittens) nine lives food for a long time and they have all been fine but today they all started throwing up. Two of the cats never go outside and the other 8 never come inside. The food is not expired or moldy what could be the problem. Can food just start making cat sick?

If they are all throwing up, there is either a problem with the food, they've gotten into the same thing (like garbage), or they all have a contagious stomach infection or parasite infection. I honestly would get rid of that bag of food and deworm everyone--indoor cats can still have parasitic infections. If the vomiting continues, you'll have to bring one or all in to the vet to get some idea what is going on.
