Hi my dog might have something in his eye. Am I able to use eye drops to flush it out?

It depends on what is in Sammie's eye, how long it has been in there, and what drops you plan to use to flush it. If you plan on trying to use just artificial tears, this is pretty harmless. You can certainly give it a shot. However, if there is something lodged in there, I would recommend having a veterinarian have a look at it and make sure the corneal surface isn't scratched or ulcerated. I would also caution you about using any other drops other than simple artificial tears. Some products can cause more harm than good (the ones that have steroids in them) if the eye does have damage to its surface. The healing process can become delayed or even worsen the condition. If the eye is looking red, inflamed, or cloudy, my recommendation would be to have someone take a look at it sooner than later. These types of problems are usually better dealt with quickly as they can spin out of control.
