My abandoned kitten's eyes are stuck shut. Is this normal? What to do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed

I have what seems to be a 3 or 4 week old baby girl who was abandon. I have been feeding her baby formula for the time being (only had her for a few hours, no poop or pee) the first photo was after her bath the second one was after her nap... Her eyes were stuck shut! I got a warm cloth and they opened but I want to know if this is normal, and is there anything I should or shouldn't do??

No this is not normal although it is a common symptom of kitten flu. If the eyes do not remain open from now, she may require an antibiotic eye drop to be prescribed by your vet. Be sure to keep her up to date with deworming medications also
