Why is my cat drooling excessively and acting withdrawn and quiet?

My cat has been drooling excessively and is unusually quiet. He looks unhappy. Please help me

I'm sorry Jinxy isn't doing well! This excessive drooling could be due to a dental problem such as a tooth root abscess, severe gingivitis, or a broken tooth. Pain from one of those conditions can caused him to be usually quiet. He could also be nauseous causing the drooling. I would have him seen by a vet for this excessive drooling. The vet can diagnose what is causing it and can prescribe a treatment for it. If he does have a dental problem, he will benefit from a dental cleaning, scaling, and polishing.
