How young can a puppy get the first set of the duramane 5 shots and it be effective?

The first set of vaccinations is usually given from the age of 8 weeks, then the second set is either given 2 or 4 weeks later, some vets do a 3rd injection around the age of 12 weeks (if the second vaccination was given 2 weeks after the first one).

    Yes, that is too early. The first vaccines should be given at six weeks of age at the earliest. Wait until Akira is eight weeks old, then take her back in for her vaccines. That will have to count as her first vaccine because at five weeks of age, the maternal antibodies will still be present and the vaccine will not be fully effective. Best of luck.
