My cat throws up when hungry. Why does he vomit between meals?

My cat has been throwing up for the past few weeks. The vets have done a scan but there is no blockage. He only seems to throw up if he is left waiting more than 5 hours between meals so we currently have to wake ourselves up at 3-4am just to feed him otherwise he throws up.... what is wrong with him? He never did it until the last month. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 4 years and 10 months old | 12 lbs

Poor Arthur. It sounds like he may have an acid reflux problem or possibly even a motility problem. I would recommend getting him scoped if you haven't done so already. This is by far the best diagnostic tool, besides an ultrasound, for any GI (stomach/intestinal) problem in cats. You can also have your vet do a short course of antacids in the meantime, to prevent severe irritation to his esophagus from all of the puking. Poor guy. I hope that you get to the bottom of Arthur's illness soon.
