Benadryl isn't used in dogs to treat nasal congestion, so I would not give it to Bruiser. The only medications available to treat nasal congestion in dogs are prescribed by a vet, and I would have him seen by a vet to get medications prescribed. You can try using a humidifier or bringing him into the bathroom with the door closed while you take a hot shower - the steam and humidity help to break up congestion and temporarily relieve symptoms associated with congestion.

A part from the options mentioned by Dr. Melanie I would add that nasal congestion could be due to possible inflammatory or infective disease of the upper respiratory tract. Anti-inflammatory medications and eventually antibiotics may be needed. I would recommend a check up and appropriate treatment. Please do not hesitate to contact us again on the forum or by requesting a consultation (where you can post pictures ) if you have any more questions or to discuss it any further.
