My dog has a red, irritated spot on his scrotum. What should I do?

My dog has a red spot on his right scrotum. The area is red and you can see the skin

Hi! The scrotum might be infected, or he may have some sort of bug bite, or irritation in the area. It is really important that he doesn't lick at the area, so if you have a "cone" collar, put it on, to prevent him from traumatizing the skin. These sores often turn in to hotspots (infected patches of skin), so if this continues, I would suggest he see his vet for treatment of the area. Best of luck!
