My puppy won't eat and has watery poop, but is still playful?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 4 months and 17 days old | 55 lbs

Hi, I have a 4 and a half month old German shepherd. He was wormed and received his rabies shot, and another vac that I can't quite spell. He had a healthy appetite since Wednesday April 5th until this morning. He will not eat, drinking plenty of water and his poop is straight water. Other than that he's acting fine and wants to play. It worries me because he's very enthusiastic about dinner time.

There are many causes of diarrhea and not wanting to eat. If Akela is fully vaccinated for parvo virus (3 vaccines about 3-4 weeks apart starting at 6-8 weeks of age) then parvo is less likely but no vaccine is 100% effective. Other causes could include GI parasites (single deworming is not always adequate to kill all GI parasites), eating something that has irritated the intestinal tract, foreign material, inflammatory bowel disease, food allergies, etc. At home you can try to feed a bland diet such as boiled chicken and rice. Try to add a few tablespoons of canned pumpkin to help firm up the stool. If he continues to have no appetite, develops bloody stool, or the diarrhea presists for more than 1 day, consider a visit to your veterinarian. They may recommend some tests like a stool sample, parvo test, and /or blood work to help determine the cause and best treatment options.
