Poor Bruno! If he ate something spoiled, this could certainly cause an upset stomach with vomiting and drooling. As far as how to tell if the problem is serious - my rule of thumb is that if vomiting continues for more than 24 hours, or if he develops any other symptoms such as acting lethargic or not wanting to eat, he needs to see a vet. If he's only been sick since earlier today and he's acting fine otherwise, you could try withholding food for the rest of the day to give his stomach a chance to settle. If he's still vomiting by tomorrow morning or if he starts to act like he doesn't feel well, it would be best to take him to the vet for treatment.

Poor Bruno. It could be he has a GI illness. I can give you a home remedy for him to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. Best of luck.
