My kitten's pupil is slow to react after an eye injury. Is it serious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My kitten just took a bouncy ball hit to the eye and her pupil almost disappeared. Getting bigger now but slow to react to light.

This a pain response and normal. Continue to monitor her for any signs of neurologic damage like loss of coordination, loss of consciousness, vomiting, or seizures. She will likely be just fine but monitor her closely and if you have any concerns take her to an emergency clinic for a full examination.
