Pet's info: Dog | Cocker Spaniel | Female | unspayed | 6 months and 22 days old | 11 lbs
My 6 months old puppy bites too much evrytime we want to pet her. She gets excited very easily and nothing works. If I try to yelp she thinks I'm playing and bites even harder. What can we do? Are there exercises for this kind of behaviour? Thanks.

This is a common problem in puppies and young dogs, as they sometimes need help figuring out how to appropriately play with humans. Visit the following link for more information on how to work with Jo at home to reduce play biting https://www.aspca.org/pet-care/dog-care/common-dog-behavior-issues/mouthing-nipping-and-biting-puppies. I also strongly recommend working with a reputable dog trainer in your area who uses positive reinforcement techniques to make sure Jo is not accidentally getting mixed signals that are making her think that biting is ok. Taking Jo to a puppy class to help her burn off some excess energy and learn how to play appropriately is also very important, as is regular exercise that can provide an outlet for her energy.
