My dog has been on Advantage for two years. I noticed red spots on her back and took her to the vet. The vet said that there was no evidence of flea dirt or fleas after a thorough investigation of him. Is it possible for my dog to have flea eggs then or would there be other signs? Thanks.

Hi! Advantage works really well, and makes sure that there are no adult fleas. But, if your pet is really allergic to flea saliva, she could still get itchy from a very low number of flea bites! Especially if there is another pet in the house that could be harboring the fleas! But, more likely, there is something else going on. She could have mange (a skin parasite), or allergies to the environment, or to a food ingredient. Or, she could have a skin infection. If her symptoms continue, I would suggest that you take her back to see her vet, to see if there is more that could be done to help!
