My dog has fleas. Can flea eggs on clothes cause an infestation?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 5 years old | 67 lbs

What are the chances of a flea infestation developing on your clothes, say your pet has fleas and you got a flea egg on a piece of clothing after petting your dog and then put in your drawer? my dog is on advantage.

It can happen, as fleas can feed on dandruff, skin, and other organic human waste that can be found on clothing. To be safe, I would wash that item of clothing and the other items in the drawer in hot soapy water.
