My cat appears to be in heat for the first time at 4 years old. She was a stray that adopted us when she was about a year old and has never been in heat before this. Is this possible? Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | 10 lbs

Some cats can exhibit silent heats, in which they go into heat but don't show any behavioral changes. It is possible that has what happened with Kitty, as it's highly unlikely that she hasn't gone into heat once in the past three years. Cats in heat can be quite annoying behaviorally, so I would recommend having her spayed once her heat has passed.
