Yes human fish oil is fine to give to Bobby and you can put it in his food. Do not give him too much, as he's already eating a salmon based food and will be getting fish oil from there. Too much fish oil causes problems.

Yes, it's find to give a daily supplement of salmon oil to Joey if you wish - this can help to promote healthy skin and joints, and most dogs also enjoy the taste :) Once daily on his food is fine. Different brands of salmon oil have different concentrations, so I can't say how much you should give without being able to see the label of the product you have. If it's a veterinary products, there should be instructions on the label for how much to give each day, depending on Joey's weight.

I want to make sure my dog has adequate amounts of omega 3 in her diet. I give her a fish oil capsule daily. If I also give her a fish based kibble (eg. Orijen six fish) several times per week (3-4) would this also help with getting more omegas in? t
One fish oil capsule a day is fine. There is a risk of giving your dog too much fish oil, and there are serious side effects from that including a tendency to bleed more when injured due to the fish oil interfering with platelet function, interfering in wound healing, and an interference in the inflammatory response of the immune system. I would not add any fish based kibble due to these risks.

I have fish oild 1200 mg but has 360mg of omega 3 can i still give one capsule to my fog
Since this is considered "off label use", as this is not a product designed specifically for dogs, your veterinarian would be the one to direct your specific dog in terms of using this product since its "off-label." To adhere to my veterinary license, I cannot advise off-label doses for a patient I have not examined and a client that I have not met. However, I will tell you that I would tell my clients that this is generally a safe product to give a 50 pound lab once a day. You may notice some increased gas/flatulence, and a "fishy" odor to his breath. If you notice any vomiting, diarrhea or decreased appetite, get him in to see your vet and discontinue use.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! It is possible to cause diarrhea and gastrointestinal upset by giving too much fish oil. I really like the American journey wild Alaskan salmon oil product for this purpose. I think this product can help Buddy a lot with his hair coat. Good luck!

It's fine to give dogs the human grade fish oil. Chloe can have 1,000 mg fish oil containing 300 mg of EPA/DHA combined for every 30 pounds of body weight. These pills are a little more than that, but it will be fine. She won't need vitamin E supplementation also. I hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! I do not recommend adding a calcium supplement to puppy food it can affect bone growth significantly in a puppy. I recommend stopping that immediately unless directed by your Vet. As for the fish oil, that is fine but how often depends on the brand you are using. Most fish oils have instructions on the bottle and are once daily. If you want to post a picture of the fish oil with the label we can try to help. Hi and thanks for using Boop by Petco! Good to see you posted this question because I thought of that after answering your first question. Yes salmon oil is great from wild caught salmon. Farmed salmon do not have the same levels of the omega 3 fatty acids found in wild caught salmon. The best is to buy an oil for dogs. It lists how much to give based on weight. Here is the current recommendation for healthy dogs and puppies- The current safe range is about 180 mg of EPA source/10# body weight. EPA is eicosapentaenoic acid which is one of the fatty acids in salmon oil. Great question and great idea. Omega 3 fatty acid supplementation is great because the oils are of course essential for normal cell function and they are anti inflammatory in nature.

Hi and thanks for your post this afternoon. The Tomlyn Nutri Supplement is okay, but the salmon oil with the added D3 and Potassium vitamins can be toxic to dogs. Unless your veterinarian has specifically told you to give the D3 and Potassium Supplement, I would advise against it. Regular Salmon Oil without the added D3 and Potassium (just regular plain Salmon or Fish Oil) would be better then the added extra D3 and Potassium. It is okay to give Salmon Oil (or other Fish Oil) with the Tomyln Nutri, just avoid the D3 and Potassium. I hope this helps and thanks for using Boop by Petco!

Hello again! If you are already giving a joint supplement and fish oil, do not give Chloe this additional supplement. Too much fish oil isn't good for her. I'd give the joint tablet and fish oil only. Cosequin is important for her to have for her joint health, and Nordic naturals fish oil is a good brand.

Hello. Yes, it is absolutely OK to give Skye an appropriate dose of salmon oil, but make sure she likes the taste. Not all cats like any kind of fish product. If she will not eat this, either as a treat, or mixed into her food, do not worry. As long as she is eating a balanced cat food, she really does not need a fish-based supplement.
