Senior dog not eating, vomiting, and weak. Are these end-of-life signs?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 14 years and 3 months old

My 14 year old collie cross German shep, has arthritis in her knees, and for a few months she's has a cough, over the last 3 weeks she hasn't had solid poos and in the last few days she hasn't eaten a thing but is drinking water, she also vomited today and now she hasn't got the energy to stand up! Is she close to passing away :(

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Skye. I'm sorry she isn't doing well! She is definitely getting old and these signs are not good. You cannot leave her in this condition, dying is not a pain free process. You need to take her into a vet immediately. Best of luck.
