6-month-old puppy has red bumps on his belly. Could it be poison ivy?

Jax Is 6 month old bully that has like red blistery looking bumps on stomach and next to penis I noticed while I was bathing him tonight also. Can dogs get poison ivy cause that's what it almost looks like

Yes it could be poison ivy, but that doesn't affect dogs as much as it does humans. I'm wondering if Jax has puppy pyoderma, a skin infection that occurs in puppies due to their sensitive skin. I'd have him seen by a vet in the morning to have this diagnosed and treated. Best of luck.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Jax. He appears to have small pustules in the pictures you have attached. This is usually related to bacterial skin infection. It can be related to self trauma from scratching. Does he seem itchy at all? In other cases puppies will develop a condition known as impetigo. It is a superficialskin infection seen on the bellies of puppies. A lot of times, it will resolve on its own. I would start by bathing him with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner such as an oatmeal or fatty acid based formula. Bathe him twice weekly. If this does not help or if it continues to spread rapidly, he will need to see his veterinarian. I hope this information helps!

My black lab has a rash on his belly and looked like a blisters now th blisters are dried up and has the circle of it as dry skin but on his belly it is little red bumps
Hi. It looks like Jack has a bit of pyoderma or skin infection on his belly. It may be a hypersensitivity reaction to insect bites or contact allergy or he may have a mild bacterial infection. Dogs that swim a lot in ponds or creeks may get this. If this is his only sign and he is not painful or itchy then bathing with a mild antibacterial shampoo may clear it up. If it's bothering him or seems to spread or get worse I recommend taking him into the vet.

My 6 month old golden has red bumps in genital/tummy area. Any at home treatment I can try? It doesn't seem to bother her
This is a fairly common issue with young dogs and often referred to as puppy pyoderma. The dogs will get a small skin infection in the inguinal region. I recommend a medicated shampoo 2 time a week and an anti histamine. If this does not cause it to resolve you will need to take her to a vet for antibiotics. I would monitor her skin closely and if it looks worse or has any hair loss I would recommend taking her to the vet to evaluate for parasites and other skin issues.

My puppy just got random little red bumps scattered on her belly. It happened within an hour. Friends are telling me it's either pyoderma, or heat (Bc it's hot), or it's flea bites(which I highly doubt as it popped out of nowhere.)
This looks most like a bacterial infection. Sometimes a pet medicated shampoo helps but other times antibiotics from your veterinarian sre needed. If it spreads, doesn't respond to a shampoo, or there's any increasing redness it should be looked at by a veterinarian

My pitbull is 5 months old and he has these bumps all over his stomach. He just got the bumps today. What are these ? What do I need to treat it
If they came up suddenly, they may be some kind of insect bite or an allergic reaction. Since he is so young, it's also possible that it is a condition called puppy pyoderma, which is roughly euivalent to acne in people. If this is the case it usually will clear up on its own, but since his look pretty widesprad, I would get him checked by your vet to make sure he doesn't need medication to speed his healing.

This could be a condition known as puppy pyoderma. It's roughly the equivalent of acne in adolescent humans. It usually clears up as your puppy gets older and there isn't any treatment needed unless it gets really bad. If so, get him in to see your vet and they can prescribe antibiotics and topical treatment as needed. You can bathe him with a mild, oatmeal-based shampoo for dogs and lukewarm water to help clear the rash and soothe his skin.

It looks like he could have a skin infection or allergic dermatitis. You could bathe him with a medicated dog shampoo and see if that helps. Otherwise, have your vet take a look at him to treat. He may need an antibiotic and/or anti-inflammatory to treat.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This is possibly due to allergies. It really comes down to figuring out what is causing her allergies so that they can be treated or the specific allergen avoided. A secondary infection is likely and also needs to be addressed. This is not something that is expected to be transferred to your other dog. There are many things that can cause allergies though in most cases they can be broken down into 3 big categories: flea, food and environmental allergies. Allergies are usually worked up in a stepwise fashion starting with flea allergies as this is the easiest and cheapest to take care of. If not on a flea preventative, then it would be a good idea to get started on one. If already on one then it would be a good idea to change to something else (there are many new products out in the market). If not improved in 1-3 months then it is time to move on and check for food allergies by switching to a novel diet (new protein and new carbohydrate). If that do

I noticed this raised red bump/lump on my dogs lower stomach. It oozes puss when gently squeezed.
Was there supposed to be a picture attached to this? Puppies tend to get skin infections pretty commonly. We even refer to it as “puppy pyoderma”. If it just looks like a pimple then that is likely what it is. If it is much larger or if there are several on the body then he should be evaluated by a veterinarian to determine if he needs antibiotics. Otherwise bathing in an antimicrobial shampoo such as chlorhexidine or salicylic acid can be helpful. These can be found in the dandruff section of any human shampoo aisle.
