My dog is thin and vomiting. How can I help her gain weight?

How can i put in my dog some weight and her height ?she is becoming very thin also vomiting some day she vomit thrice a day but she do it very rarely?

Vomiting frequently isn't normal, and that could be why Mithu is skinny. You need to have the cause of the vomiting diagnosed so it can be treated, and therefore lead her to gain weight again. I'd take her into a vet today. Best of luck.

It sounds as Vinny is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking him to the vet the first chance you get, he will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection he will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

My dog eats everyday and gains no weight and she also throughs up everything she eats
Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. Vomiting can be a symptom of many different causes. Many cases can be directly linked to the diet or an imbalance of the normal intestinal bacteria. I recommend switching the dog food to something different such as science diet or royal canin. Feed the new diet for at least 4 weeks. Of there is no improvement, then I would add a probiotic such as Purina fortiflora which can be found online quite easily or at your local pet store. If she is still vomiting, then I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. I hope this helps! Hi, I'm Dr. Johnson. Thanks for using Boop by Petco. Causes of chronic vomiting and poor weight gain are: intestinal parasites, digestive disorders and malabsorption of nutrients, chronic obstructions from eating something that is stuck, Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) which can be from food allergies, addison's disease (decreased steroid production from the adrenal glands) and many other things. You can try simply changing his food to a novel protein diet. Chicken is the most common allergy a dog can have to food. You could try a fish, venison or duck diet. If you choose to do this then you can't give him people food or any treats that don't contain that special protein. Also dropping of a stool sample to your Vet is easy. Otherwise getting him looked at by your Vet if he hasn't been see in a while is always a good idea. Good luck

Mojo needs to be examined by the veterinarian right away. A sudden change in body mass can indicate many diseases and conditions. This could even be an intestinal blockage which requires surgery or could be fatal. You need to play it safe and have Mojo examined today. Best of luck.

Vomiting, weight loss, and decreased appetitie in a 15 year old dog could be caused by many different things, including kidney disease, liver disease, cancer, infections, pancreatitis, diabetes, etc. He needs to be examined by a vet for a work-up with blood-work and x-rays to determine the exact cause. Once diagnosed, your vet can determine the best way to treat the problem and the prognosis. An anti-vomiting medication may help with the vomiting and get him eating again.

Chevy needs to see a vet. It's not normal for a dog to vomit two to three times a day, and it's clear that he's suffering from it based on your description of his weight loss. This chronic vomiting could be caused by a food allergy, IBD (irritable bowel disease), GI ulcers, or a partially obstructed foreign body. I would take him to the vet as soon as possible. The vet can do a physical exam, routine blood tests, a urinalysis, and possibly x-rays to diagnose what is causing him to vomit so much. Once a cause found, the vet can institute a treatment

My dog is throwing up and has lost a lot of weight and is still trying to eat and drink and there is no bloody stool
I recommend getting your pet in to be seen by your veterinarian right away. Continued vomiting and weight loss together are very concerning and can lead to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance as well as low blood sugar. He might have eaten something that either disagreed with him or something that has gotten stuck somewhere in his gastrointestinal tract. He could be sore from a hidden injury you are unaware of, he could have been exposed to some sort of toxin or irritant in his environment or this could be early signs of another condition or disease process. Your pet may need IV fluids to help support his/her system and to be fasted at the same time in order to give the gut a rest. Your vet can do an exam, blood work and possibly x-rays to determine the cause of the illness and suggest an effective treatment plan.

Possible causes for vomiting include dietary intolerance, dietary indiscretion, food allergy, intestinal parasites, GI blockage, gastroenteritis, bacterial or viral infection, IBD, pancreatitis, among others. In a young dog, intestinal blockage is at the top of my list. I recommend that Taylor get checked out by a vet as soon as possible. Weight loss can be caused by severe dehydration or other internal illness, but always indicates a serious problem that needs medical care.

There are a number of illnesses that could cause decreased appetite with weight loss. Some common possibilities would include chronic liver or kidney disease, a partial intestinal obstruction due to a foreign body or tumor, a severe intestinal parasite load, or even some type of cancer. I would recommend taking Pohana to the vet for an exam as soon as you are able to - he/she can do blood work and x-rays to help determine the problem and see what can be done to treat it.
