Dog ate sock, lethargic, not eating. When to worry and see vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 2 years old | 60 lbs

I believe my dog ate a sock. He has been lethargic & not eating. Still drinking, peeing, & wagging his tail. Normal breathing, no abdominal tenderness. This has happened in the past and I took him to the vet. He was given IV fluids and a diagnosis of “depression”. I was out $400 only for him to pass it naturally the next day. My question is at what point should I worry?

I'd be worried now. Just because it passed before doesn't mean it will pass again. Kahn is showing you signs that he's not feeling well because he's lethargic and not eating. He should see a vet right away. Best of luck.
