My dog's poop is black after antibiotics, should I deworm him again?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Cane Corso | Male | unneutered | 3 months and 21 days old | 54 lbs

Dante's potty is not getting normal. After Antibiotic course, he is eating boiled white rice with boiled chicken or beef for more than 2 weeks. Todays potty pic is attached herewith. We have dewormed him on 30th march 2020. Should we have to deworm him?

This is very serious. Black stools mean that it is digested blood. So, he is still having some bleeding somewhere in his intestinal tract. You can deworm him again - that would be a good idea. If you are able to get him some probiotics I would give him that and also start putting him on regular dog food. You should also start giving him some Omeprazole 10mg once per day. It is a human drug and you can likely buy it at your local pharmacy. I would give that once per day for two weeks and then stop. As long as he is eating that is a good sign.
