My dog is breathing fast and shaking. Is it pain without whining?

My sharpers fast breathing and shaking comes in intervals and he’s not whining or anything! how do I know if he is in pain?

This breathing and shaking both can be a sign of pain. Signs of pain in dogs do not have to include whining, and a dog being lethargic can also be a sign of pain. You should have Harvey checked out by a vet for this. Best of luck.

My dog is seeking lots of attention shaking panting excessively and whining in pain but not consistently with any particular activity.
It sounds like she should be examined by a vet to determine the source of her pain. She could have neck or back pain, arthritis, abdominal pain, etc. and your vet should be able to localize the pain and decide the best way to treat. She may need an anti-inflammatory and your vet can prescribe. Do not use any human OTC pain relievers as they can be toxic to dogs.

It sounds like Peanut is in pain. That would cause him to whine and breathe fast. Without seeing him in person, I can't say for sure if he's in pain, and what could be causing it. If he's really distressed, I'd have him seen by a vet now. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. Best of luck.

So I took my dog outside for a few minutes then brought him back in . He kept whining so I gave him a shower but he is still whining so I took him outside for even longer and he was okay but then he started whining again and shaking . Why is that ?
Whining is an attention seeking behavior and can be a sign of anxiety, pain or potentially boredom. The shaking can also be a sign of pain or anxiety. If you think he might be in pain you should see a veterinarian to see if they can localize the pain to a specific area. If you think he may be anxious it could help to try to identify what might be triggering the anxiety - some dogs have storm or noise phobias, or he might be anxious about a change in routine or environment.

Hi my 6 month of Pekingese is suddenly breathing really fast and shaking? Should I be worried? What could it be?
Sudden panting and shaking is usually due to pain or severe discomfort, this could come from anywhere in her body. if these symptoms do not seem to resolve within the next hour i would recommend taking her to the vet in order to get it checked and treated.

My dog is breathing heavily and shaking and not wanting to be held. She is 2
Willow is experiencing very general symptoms of disease, these symptoms could fit almost any internal condition, maybe she is suffering from nausea due to a gastrointestinal disease and maybe she is in pain, from the symptoms described it's very hard to know. i would recommend taking her to the vet as soon as possible in order to get her checked, if she doesn't show any other obvious symptoms during the examination, a blood test and possibly an ultrasound will be needed in order to try and find out what is wrong with her.

I noticed for the past couple days. My dog as been breathing heavily and when he sits down he is shaking. My question is why is he breathing heavily and shaking?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Heavy breathing can be a sign of many conditions such as pneumonia, bronchitis, heart disease, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Walter evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Likely diagnostics to be performed include thoracic radiographs and bloodwork. My dog is shivering constantly on and off for the last few hours. He is crying constantly and very sluggish & antisocial which is not normal.
Poor pup! Shaking is a common sign of pain or discomfort in dogs, which could also cause him to be crying, acting lethargic, and not very social. Unfortunately, these are very vague symptoms that could be caused by almost anything, so it's hard to say what might be causing this without being able to examine him. Many dogs with back pain due to a pinched nerve or herniated disc will act this way, so this is certainly a possibility; he could also have abdominal pain, or some other type of injury that isn't visible from the outside. Since it sounds like he's very painful and the underlying problem may be serious, I would really recommend taking him to a vet right away - he/she can do x-rays or other testing if needed to help diagnose the problem and get him started on appropriate treatment.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding your dog. Depending on the age and breed of your dog, it will make certain things more likely. For example, small breed dogs are prone to neck and back pain. This can come on suddenly and be excruciatingly painful. Large breed dogs tend to experience joint pain as they age. Puppies are more likely to experience pain as a result of trauma. Older dogs can have an internal illness that will make them pant and potentially drink more water. I recommend that your dog sees a veterinarian if the symptoms are persisting. Do not give any over-the-counter pain medication as these can be toxic to dogs. I hope this information helps!

Sasha is so cute, but I'm sorry she's doing poorly! If she is limping, she is breathing heavily, trembling, and panting a lot, this can be a sign she is in pain. This would explain why she couldn't even go up the the stairs. If she's finally laying down and isn't showing any of this signs you described in your post, I would keep an eye on her for now and make an appointment for her with the vet in the morning. Now if these symptoms you are describing are continuing, then I think having her seen by a vet now would be best. In this case, please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies.
