My 5-month-old puppy has rashy spots on his back. What to do?

I need help. My 5 month old pup has these rashy-like spots on his back. I would like to know what it is and how to treat it

Puppies have very sensitive skin and can be prone to skin infections. Benji may have puppy pyoderma. Without seeing him in person, I can't diagnose what is causing his symptoms. I'd have him seen by a vet to have this diagnosed and treated. Best of luck.

I can see that Benji has a few small areas of hair loss with yellow crusting, and these lesions could be due to ringworm, mange, or a skin infection. In order to accurately diagnose these lesions, a vet should perform a skin scraping and fungal culture/Wood's lamp exam. Both ringworm and Sarcoptic mange (scabies) can be transmitted to other dogs and humans, so it is certainly worth having the lesions evaluated. I hope that Benji is on the mend soon!

I’m a new dog mom and my puppy has 2 patches one on his chin and one on his leg I’m not sure what it is and I’m concerned about it
I recommend to have Benji examined by the veterinarian. Hairless patches like this can be related to a few things and the most common in a young dog like Benji would be skin mites, ringworm (which humans can get) or bacteria. This could be a condition known as puppy pyoderma. It's roughly the equivalent of acne in adolescent humans. It usually clears up as your puppy gets older and there isn't any treatment needed unless it gets really bad. If so, get him in to see your vet and they can prescribe antibiotics and topical treatment as needed. You can bathe him with a mild, oatmeal-based shampoo for dogs and lukewarm water to help clear the rash and soothe his skin.

My beagle/ jack russel six month puppy has a rash under her armpit that is really bugging her and looks very painful. She is also not acting like herself (very tired, clingy). I just want to know what it is and what I should do.
Those spots on Bella could be several things including allergies, skin mites, flea bites, ringworm (which humans can get) or a bacterial infection. You can try adding in an omega 3 fatty acid supplement for dogs, this can help improve the skin health. You may also try changing her diet to something like Royal Canin or Nutro as they are aimed at skin health. The best option is to have Bella examined since the rash is bothering her. This will figure out the cause the fastest and bring her relief sooner. If you cannot get to the veterinarian's office, you can wash the lesions with soap once a day and rinse well (don't wash her whole body, just those spots). Protect the areas from licking or scratching with an elizabethan collar. If they don't start looking better within about a week or if they get worse, have her examined by his veterinarian who may prescribe medications. Poor Tank! That rash looks pretty severe. It could be something like an allergic reaction, scabies, flea allergy or a severe case of puppy pyoderma. Because there are several conditions that can look like this and they all require different treatment, I recommend to take Tank in to see his veterinarian. The doctor will examine him and try to determine the cause for all those lesions. It’s likely he will get an anti-inflammatory and antibiotics. If parasites are suspected, he will get a treatment for those as well. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Our puppy that we got 3 days ago has a rash on her belly. We think she had it when we got her but we just didn't see it. We are in the process of finding a vet, but are wondering what it may be?
Congrats on your new puppy, but I'm sorry Sasha has a rash! Thank you for the picture, it's very helpful. This could be puppy pyoderma, which is a skin infection. Puppies have very sensitive skin, and they can be prone to bacterial skin infections. Puppy pyoderma is quite common amongst young puppies, is usually not serious, and can easily be treated by your vet. Another cause could be fleas. I can't make a definitive diagnosis without seeing her in person, so it's good you are trying to find her a vet. Finding her a vet is not only good for this problem, but also for getting her vaccine course completed, making sure she is healthy now and in the future, and having there for any potential problems that may arise. Once you find a vet, please make an appointment for her to be seen to get this diagnosed and treated. I hope this helps!

Puppies have very sensitive skin, and that can leave them prone to skim infection. I suspect that Willow has puppy pyoderma (a skin infection). You need to have her seen by a vet to have this diagnosed and treated.
