Why is my dog biting his leg, losing fur, and bleeding from itching?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Male | neutered | 65 lbs

My Labrador has been biting at two places on his front leg, removing a patch of fur. In one place it is bleeding. I think it’s itching him a lot. It doesn’t seem infected though. Any advice please?

I agree, this area is likely itching a lot. You need to have Charlie seen by a vet for this in the morning. Tonight, put an Ecollar on him to keep him from licking it more. You can make one at home if you don't have one, and I will put a link below on how to make one. I hope this helps! http://dogsaholic.com/care/homemade-dog-cone.html
