I changed my puppy food and it give her diarrhea. I then put her on a white rice and chicken broth diet. It stopped her diarrhea but her poop isn’t normal. It’s like a pile of mush with texture. We slowly started to transition her back on the new dog food. This morning one strain of poop was actually the “regular” shape and wet but then the rest was the same mush. Is it the bland diet that’s doing it? I talked to my vet however they don’t see it as a problem. I’m concerned they brushing it off.

It can take a while for your pets poop to get back to normal consistency after a bout of diarrhea. I would suggest adding 1-2 tsp of canned pumpkin (not the pie filling) in her food daily to help solidify the stools and also adding in a probiotic (Culturelle over the counter or online Fortiflora) to help support a healthy GI tract. You should also continue the bland diet for sure. I hope that this is enough to resolve Gracelyn's loose stool. IF there is no improvement within the next 48-72 hrs, then it is best to take Gracelyn in to your vet for a fecal exam and possible medication. I hope that Gracelyn's inconsistent poops resolve soon. Best of luck and take care.
