My senior dog is trembling but acting normal. Why is this happening?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 12 years and 11 months old | 12 lbs

My 13-year-old dog is not cold,scared- he’s trembling on and off for a few days. He doesn’t appear to be in any pain otherwise acting normal. He does have Addison’s disease well-controlled this is not a crisis but this is very unlike him. All eating exercising etc. is normal. Any reason why this would be happening?

Hello. Trembling could be a sign of pain. Is Austin on any medications for arthritis? Because he already has a chronic condition ( Addison's ) it is important to report this finding to your veterinarian so any additional recommendations can be discussed. Thanks for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
