My 3-month-old puppy's eye looks strange after shots. What's wrong?

My dogs eye is doing this after giving her a shot. She’s 3 months and I’m scared that we hit a nerve giving her all her shots. Whats happening?

Where Jazzy should get her shots isn't anywhere near the nerves to her eyes, so it won't be that. She could have an eye infection or may have injured her eye. Any eye problem is a medical emergency as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I'd have her seen by a vet now. Best of luck.

Since the vaccines were given a few days ago I do not think this is related to the vaccines. The eye drainage could be due to allergies. You could try to give her one adult tablet (25mg) of Benadryl twice a day to see if this helps. If she is squinting or the discharge is yellow or green then I would have your vet look at her to ensure she doesn't need any eye meds. The vomiting can be caused from several things including eating something she shouldn't, a parasite, a GI obstruction, a bacterial/viral infection and much more. Since it was just one time, you can try to withhold her food for 12 hours and then offer a small amount of plain boiled chicken (no bones) and rice to see if this helps. If she continues to vomit then I would see your vet for an exam. Your vet will be able to do a fecal and bloodwork or X-rays if needed. i hope this helps!

I think the image is distorted, but this appears to be severe corneal damage and anterior synechia formation. This happens when the eye repairs a large defect in the outer part of the eye. The eye may or may not be visual and will likely heal more. There is definitely a possibility that this could cause complications in the future, but may heal well and not cause any further issues. I would have to examine the eye to tell more, so it's best to correspond with the vet for more information and to ensure he is safe for travel. I hope that helps and all is well with Chestnut.

My dogs one eye looks weird
This is a condition known as ventrolateral strabismus, which indicates that the there is damage to either the muscles or nerves that are attached to the eye ball. This can happen with infections, trauma, or tumors. It's best to have Nelly seen by a vet sometime soon, so they can check her for any life-threatening problems that can be potentially treated. It could be that your puppy ran into something outside causing the blood to pool in the white area of her eye, but she could also have an eye infection or allergies. The eye is such a delicate and important structure that any problem with it should be considered an emergency. That's because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I would take her into a vet now to have her eye examined and diagnosed so it can be treated as needed.

Jax my 4 month kelpie pup has developed a red left eye
Thank you for using Boop by Petco! Red eye can be caused by conjunctivitis, which is an infection of the tissues on the interior of the eyelids. It can also be due to a foreign body, a corneal ulcer, or be an allergic reaction. I recommend having Jax seen by a vet as soon as possible, especially if the condition gets worse, as eye conditions can quickly become emergencies. I hope all is well!

My 11year old Bassett hounds eye's have been rolling up into her head for the last two nights. she acts generally ok and responds to us is this normal or should I get her to the Vet.
It could be that Jezzie's eye aren't actually rolling up into her head; rather, you may be seeing the third eyelid sliding across her eye. This third eyelid isn't normally seen when a dog is awake and has their eyes open. It's function is to protect the eye, and spread tears across the eye's surface. When it is raised, this could be due to irritation to the eye, such as injury and infection. The other possibility is that it isn't the third eyelid, and Jezzie rolling her eyes back could be due to a seizure. Given that she acts ok and responds to you, I would be less inclined to think it was a seizure. She should be seen by a vet, as any eye problem is considered an emergency. The vet can diagnose if it is her third eyelid coming out or not, or if seizures are the cause, and can treat according to the diagnosis.

Cloudy eyes should always constitute an emergency vet visit. Since you know there is possible trauma, there could be an abrasion or corneal ulcer, something stuck under an eyelid, a hole in the cornea, or severe inflammation. There are several eye tests the vet may recommend after examining the eye to determine the most appropriate treatment.

my chihuahua had a visit with our local veterinary and got a few vaccines such as , rabies , distemper parvo , canine bordetella but, she’s been itchy and her eyes are extremely red is this an allergic reaction? what can stop the itchy reaction?
A swollen face, swollen lips, red eyes, severe itching or difficulty breathing may all be symptoms of a vaccine reaction. An antihistamine, such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl), can be given but only under the advice of your veterinary. Legally, we are prohibited from recommending you medicate her in the absence of a physical exam and a VPCR (veterinarian-patient-client relationship). If her symptoms persist or worsen, have her examined by your veterinarian or at the nearest veterinary ER.

My puppy got her rabies vaccination today - I just noticed this under her eye now. Is this normal? Her temperament has been normal. She’s 4 months old. I’m worried, and my vet is closed now. Thank you!
It can be a sign of a reaction to the vaccine. If that is the case, the swelling may spread around her muzzle and spot bumps can appear on her body and legs. You can give an over the counter antihistamine such as Benadryl to help with the reaction. If it proceeds to spread and gets worse and itch her, then I would contact an ER clinic for further care.

3week old puppy, eyes opened about a week ago except his right. Once fully opened say a pink lump on his eye & also kind of cloudy. Almost directly in the middle of his eye. Doesn't seem to hurt him. Reacts to light but can't see pupil.
I recommend to get this puppy examined today. That eye looks inflamed and possibly infected. It's possible this is a congenital anomaly but the appearance of the eye looks suspicious for something is trapped in the eye (hair or or object) or that a virus has causes a painful corneal abrasion. The opacity may represent corneal edema which is very worrisome. It's possible he is in pain so get this addressed quickly. Best of luck.
