My cat has a bladder infection. How long until Clavaseptin works?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 1 year and 8 months old | 11 lbs

My car was diagnosed with a bladder infection yesterday and was prescribed clavaseptin. How long should I expect for this to take effect? He is still only having tiny pee’s and has received 3 pills at 62.5 already, he is on a 10 day dosage that began yesterday around 11 am.

Hello. It can take about 3 days to start to clear up a urinary tract infection & reduce some of the inflammation in the bladder & urethra. If he is still having problems on Monday, please contact your veterinarian as Turbo may need either another antibiotic , or to have his condition re-evaluated. Thanks for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
