Oh no, that's not good. This may cause some problems, but do not induce vomiting. I would keep a close eye on Snickers for the next couple of days. If you see vomiting, diarrhea, blood in his poop, lethargy, excessive drooling, or a loss of appetite, have him seen by a vet immediately. I hope this helps!

Oh dear! It's never a good idea for dogs to eat cooked bones of any kind, since there is a chance that they may splinter and puncture the stomach or intestines, or become stuck and cause a blockage. It's also possible that they may pass through uneventfully without causing any problem at all. You will need to monitor your dogs closely for the next few days for any sign of problems. Symptoms to watch for would include repeated episodes of vomiting, acting lethargic, not wanting to eat, or blood in the stool. If you see any of these symptoms, you will need to take them to a vet immediately for x-rays to help determine what's wrong - they may need emergency surgery to remove the bones if they are causing a problem.

You will have to watch Raine closely. Do NOT induce vomiting, it's never recommended to do that in these cases. Hopefully it will pass without problem, but there is a chance it could splinter in the GI tract if it was a cooked bone leading to perforation of the intestines, or it could cause an obstruction. You could take her into a vet immediately, and if they have an endoscope, they could potentially remove it from her stomach. Otherwise, monitor her for signs such as vomiting, diarrhea, blood in the feces, anorexia, and/or lethargy. If you see any of those signs, take her into a vet immediately. It can take a couple of days before this bone passes. Best of luck.

6 months M toy poodle 5kg. My aunt gave my puppy a fully washed pork rib bone. Is it okay? He ate some of the bone. I took it right away as I saw. Should I be concerned ?
A small enough piece will likely pass uneventfully. Monitor for vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, loss of appetite or difficulty defecating. Cooked bones of any kind should be avoided since they can splinter easily and cause injury.

Hello, we gave my 55lb dog a rib bone chew treat, within seconds he bit it and it splintered. I ran to take it from him but he managed to swallow a piece before I could get it out of his mouth. He is acting normal (5 hours later) we fed him wet food
Pesci is a big dog so he may be ok. Keep a close eye on him. If you see vomiting, diarrhea, blood in his poop, a loss of appetite, or lethargy, then it's causing problems and he will need to see a vet. I'd monitor him for the next three days to be safe. I hope this helps!

My dog ate half a rotisserie chicken and 3 rib bones
Poor dog. Unfortunately bones have the potential to cause intestinal obstruction in pets, so you want to monitor him/her for he next 24-48 hrs for signs of trouble. The rotisserie chicken can also cause an acute inflammatory response of the pancreas (pancreatitis), so monitoring for that is also advised. Watch out for signs that include: excessive vomiting (even water), lack of appetite, and abdominal pain. If you see these symptoms then your pet should seek medical attention by your local vet immediately for a proper care. In the meantime you should feed your pet a bland diet of plain boiled chicken and rice or cottage cheese to help the stomach settle. You can also offer your pet 1/2-1 slice of bread (depending on the size of your pet) twice a day to help bind the bones and encourage passage through the gut. Also taking your pet on 20-30 minute brisk walks twice a day can help promote GI (gastrointestinal) motility and encourage passage of the bones as wel. I hope this helps and I h

My dog got in the garbage and swallowed a baby back ribs bone whole should be able to digest it
It's possible that he will digest it, but maybe he won't and maybe the bone will cause severe problems in his gastrointestinal tract, you will have to monitor him closely and see. if he starts vomiting, stops eating or if he starts suffering from diarrhea, constipation or blood in the stools you will need to take him to the vet to get it checked and treated.

hello my dog has swallowed rib bones by accident last night while I was sleeping and she now has the runs is this a good thing or bad ?
Poor Devious! Many dogs will have an upset stomach after eating something like this. The biggest concern is that the rib bones can have sharp edges and may cause an intestinal perforation, or they could become stuck and cause a blockage in her intestines. Signs of these problems would include repeated episodes of vomiting, acting lethargic, and not wanting to eat - if she develops any of these symptoms, she needs to see a vet immediately as she may need emergency surgery to remove the bones. If she is acting normal right now apart from some runny stool, you can try feeding her a bland diet of plain boiled chicken and rice for the next 2-3 days to help settle her stomach and get things back to normal. If this doesn't help, or if she develops any other symptoms such as the ones I listed above, you will need to take her to the vet right away for an exam and treatment.

At this point, just watch for vomiting and diarrhea. If he starts vomiting than he needs to be examined by a vet to determine if he has an obstruction. It may pass through fine but you should monitor him closely.

Hello and welcome to Boop by Petco. Bones and raw food of any kind are a huge danger to any dog as they can cause serious infections, can perforate (poke a hole in) the intestines, cause gastritis, pancreatitis, and other issues. I would be very worried about a septic abdomen with Rowdy. If he is still not acting normally I would have him rechecked with your vet ASAP to do x-rays, a possible abdominal ultrasound to make sure there is no free fluid in his abdomen. If these are normal then your vet will likely treat for a gastritis/pancreatitis. If he can't stand and is having diarrhea, he could be very dehydrated and need IV fluids as well. I would strongly suggest pursing these other tests, especially if Rowdy is still acting the way you have described, with diarrhea and unable to stand. Best of luck with Rowdy.
