What to do if my rabbit has a broken leg and no vet is open?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

There is no available veterinary hospital today since we are in an enhanced community quarantine. What should I do to my rabbit with a broken leg? Thank you

It is really not much to do at home, rabbit with a broken leg should be seen by a vet as an emergency. The only thing I can suggest is to keep him confined ( for example in a small box or carrier) as walking and hopping will cause further pain. Also, make sure that he gets good quality food as many rabbits with painful condition will stop eating and became even more unwell as a result of that. And obviously try to get him seen by a vet as soon as possible.
