Why is my dog limping with a swollen toe after his nail fell out?

Pet's info: Dog | Staffordshire Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 8 years and 7 months old | 75 lbs

Nail fell out last week. He’s been fine up until tonight now he’s limping and the toe looks swollen

Poor Rocky. The swelling can indicate infection and limping means he is in pain. Unfortunately there are no OTC pain relievers you can give him, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given. You should take him into a vet now to have him treated. I hope this helps!
